Thrifty Thursday

On Monday Mum and I both had a free morning, so headed off to check out a few of our favourite oppies :)  Mum was looking for a blue doona / sheet to use on some fabric teepees she's making Cohan & Jaxson and actually managed to find a blue dinosuar print doona cover that matched perfectly to the other fabrics she already had!!  She was super happy :)  I was chasing some more Christmas stuff.

I managed to find this cute children's apron $2!

I have been thinking about getting a bag of nuts in the shell to put on the Christams table this year, so was on the look out for a nutcracker.  I found this nutcracker for $1 and a butterfly sandwhich cutter 50c.

Everyday Moments

Craig won this nice little prize from Bunnings for picking the winner of the NRLgrand final with the correct margin and first try score.

Our bush orchid have bloomed :)

We enjoyed a delicious brunch with friends one Sunday

My desert rose bloomed

Cuddles with cousin BP

Our oven caught fire, so we had to get a new one.  Using only a convection oven, microwave and electric frypan for 6 weeks meant some creative meals LOL

This has been sitting on the cube shelving just inside the front door for months...either Craig hasn't noticed it or has decided not to comment!! Bahahahaha

An afternoon at the beach

We have been enjoying such beautiful weather lately, that we decided to head to the beach for a swim yesterday afternoon.  We asked a few friends to join us and Jeanie and her boys agreed.  Since they live at Burnett Heads and we've never been to the beach there, we decided to head there for a swim, for something different :)  Clay loved the waves and had no fear - leaping head first into the waves and coming up spluttering LOL  I took my big camera, but decided not to take it down onto the beach.  Jeanie had her phone in her bag and snapped these fantastic pics for us :)

After swimming and building sandcastles, we headed back up to the cars and had afternoon tea of delicious watermelon.

We all had such a lovely, relaxed time that we agreed to try and make it a weekly event.

Goodbye cute curls, hello spunky spike!

While I was having a coffee and catch up with Kylie this morning, Craig took Clay to get another haircut - his hair was so long and curly :)  This time it wasn't as easy as his first haircut - he wriggled and cried the whole time :(  There were a few short bits and long bits - but the hairdresser did an awesome job considering LOL  The spunky spike makes him look so cheeky - love it!!

Thrifty Thursday

It's been a few months since my last op shop visit, but I made up for it last week when mum, Clay  and I popped into 3 op shops Friday morning :)

Little People toy (matches with the barn Clay already has) 20c

Book $1 and bag of wooden blocks, trees and signs $3

The shops had their Christmas stuff out - woo hoo! Round tin $1 and multi-tier snowman tin $2

Brand new with tags whisk $2 and set of Christmas cookie cutters $` (yes, I know I have enough cutters, but it's an addiction LOL)

Set of 2 Christmas dip / cheese spreaders $1 and the Santa & Holly leaves cake decorations were 20c for the bag.

Craft punch $2

Felt board and shapes $2

Rubber duckies 50c

Best bargain - set of 3 Pyrex pink tulip bowls $6!  I thought there were only 2 bowls, so was happy to find the set of 3 when I opened them up :)

We couldn't resist having a little fun with the reindeer sunglasses and our cute model :)

Saw these, but was happy to leave them on the shelf ;)

Dad & Lyn visit

Dad was in town last weekend, so he & Lyn popped around for a visit :)  Clay was a bit stand-offish to start, but Granddad quickly won him over by showing him his mobile LOL  I forgot to take photos last visit, so glad I remembered to grab my camera this time :)

Kaiser Kraft Swap

My Kaiser Kraft Swap arrived this week!  Surprisingly it was from the person I sent my swap to - last time I sent to one person and a different person sent to me. Kat did an amazing job creating an advent calendar - full of gorgeous wood veneers!

Sunshine Coast Day 4

Our last day in Maroochydore :(  We snapped a few photos of the river which was just across the road from our cabin!

Then headed to a local cafe to catch up with our friend Elena - we haven't seen her since she moved to the Sunshine Coast.  Lovely relaxed morning, chatting and she finally got to meet Clay :)

Some cute yarn bombing near the cafe.

I brought this nutella donut from Donut Boyz - ohhhh soooo gooood!!

It was a big 4 days for Clay and he crashed once we hit the road :)

Sunshine Coast Day 3 - Underwater World

After a lesuirely breakfast, we headed into Mooloolabah to spend the morning at Underwater World.  We weren't sure how long Clay would last after such a big day at the zoo yesterday, but luckily we had 2 free passes from a competition, so decided to just go.  Clay loved watching the sharks & rays in the the underwater tunnels and spent ages playing in a light installation in the jellyfish area.

After spending the morning looking at the sea life, we had worked up an appetite so decided to head to Sunshine Plaza for Yum Cha.  Cathie, Andrew and the kids were also at the Sunshine Coast that weekend and originally we had suggested meeting up for Yum Cha, but weren't sure on the day if we could get our schedules aligned.  We headed to Yum Cha and once we got seated and started to eat, the others got there.  Luckily they were seated at a table behind us, so we could all chat and catch up with how our weekends were going.  Clay was overtired, so after throwing a huge wobbly, crashed out in Craig's arms.  Craig is very adept at eating one handed LOL  Our meals were delicious - I LOVE yum cha!

After lunch we headed back to the cabin to have a rest, then off to the pool for another lovely swim / spa.  When we got there there was a mother duck and 7 little ducklings swimming in the pool!  They all got out and waddled off when some kids hopped in the pool.  After a couple of big days, we decided to have a quiet night in and just ordered dinner from the resort restaurant again - delicious burgers.
